Solar Panel Cleaning

A car that’s well-oiled and serviced runs better, so there’s no surprise that solar panels do their job more efficiently when they’re given the same level of attention.

Improve your system performance and electricity production with home solar panel cleanings and our professional maintenance service.  Our service includes a home solar panel cleaning and visual inspection of the array.

Dirty panels will cause your system to produce less electricity.  Further, if you have sections of your panels covered with leaves, bird droppings, or other debris, not only is your performance severely compromised, but you could be hurting the health of your panels by creating hotspots which can potentially violate your warranty.

We recommend that your panels get professionally cleaned and inspected at least once a year or more if the array is located near dirt lots with traffic, construction zones, or under airport approach or take-off routes.

Solar panel cleaning is critical to maintaining solar system performance.

  • Panels are inspected and removed of any debris prior to cleaning.
  • Spray down all solar modules with water at minimal pressure.  (Do not use high pressure washers.)
  • Water is conditioned through a water softener to minimize mineral deposit.
  • Use a soft bristle brush during heavy soil situations to free accumulated soil. They prevent micro fractures or scratches on the solar panels.

The typical cleaning services includes the following:

  • Do not use chemicals or abrasive cleaning during the cleaning process.
  • Inspect the site for any hazardous conditions.
  • Cover all electrical equipment, (i.e. inverters and combiner boxes) with tarps prior to cleaning.
  • Use an aerial man lift, when required, to reach the solar modules.
